Just in front of my work place is a bore hole which has been repaired several times this year because it has no caretaker.when I was growing up,there was a lockable well at our neighborhood.it was built in the same way they construct a septic tank.it was so deep and the source of water were the springs under the ground.I remember there was a bucket attached to it which people would use to draw the water from the well.since ...more »
Drilling Production boreholes. Installing windmills for areas with no electricity and submersibles or diesel pumps. Pumping the clean water from the boreholes into reservoirs to tanks.
The other cheaper option is to drill boreholes and install hand pumps.
Other option is to pump water out of the existing river or dams and purify by UV light. The UV Light kills harmful bacteria in the water
Most important is to prevent the pollution of water. Water can get polluted in various ways. The most common culprits are leaking underground storage tanks, landfills and hazardous waste sites and improper deposit of sewages. Wastewater which is not treated properly at treatment facilities is also another source. There are two methods of cleaning water, chemically or by natural means. The water for drinking, bathing ...more »
Desalinization of groundwater to drinking water Inland communities should adopt desalinization techniques to turn dirty brackish groundwater into drinking water. Since the briny groundwater is generally less salty than ocean or bay waters, processing that water is cheaper. According to Wikipedia, Desalination, desalinization, and desalinisation refer to any of several processes that remove some amount of salt and other ...more »
we can use naturally available model through the use of atmospheric pressure to naturally and continuously pump water from underground sources into tanks whereby the water can now be delivered to taps for use...
The Rainwater Harvesting for Increased Access to clean and safe water project is intended to increase access to safe and clean water for the identified communities; to improve the level of sanitation, participation in early childhood education for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children; and to eliminate gender disparities in the communities.
2. Groundwater: How can we give communities long-term access to groundwater? Some time back bore holes were set up in our community, but most of them are down today, this is due to; Poor knowledge on how to handle and use the bore holes, and also it was observed that one borehole was being accessed by many people, if at all these two issues are addressed underground water won’t be a problem. Once borehole can be allocated ...more »
According to a UN report, African countries suffering or facing water shortages as a result of climate change have a massive potential in rainwater harvesting, with nations like Ethiopia and Kenya capable of meeting the needs of six to seven times their current populations. In dry parts of Africa, a lot of water is lost as surface runoff. There are many ways to harvest and store rainwater. Harvesting this runoff and storing ...more »
contruction of rain-water collection centres in villages to keep water for use in dry season. This would work best in a case where every small village has a rain-water collection point where water is collected and treated. such water can then be collected for use by members of the community in times of drought. The community members will then be responsible as a community to take care and clean around and the water collection ...more »
Drilling sustainable clean water wells at a reasonable cost that last years. Having wells in various communities with specific focus locations being schools (children have to take on the role of fetching water). Having wells in schools or close to the schools will give the children time to focus on their education and worry less about water journeys to make. Most of the drilled wells provide clean water that is safe for ...more »
The whole idea is to drill bore holes for ten (10) Communities in Ghana. That would be the first Phase. Water situation in my country Ghana is nothing to write home about, hence the spread of so many #diseases like #Guinea worm, tape worm, cholera and many more, just to mention a few. we also feel as an organization, it is our duty to give back to the society, and we feel that, these communities, need good water so that ...more »
introduction of well drilling machine will enable to increase of well especiall in rural areas where by most of people who living there are using unsafe water and are spending a whole time especially women and children whereby other soco-economic activities are declined due to unavailability of water to their villages. a real case study can bee seen to my villages in nkonko wards at manyoni district in singida. most ...more »
